Congratulations are in order for our friends over at Savannah State University! It was recently announced that the university will be honored as the top HBCU by Upscale Magazine on April 23.
SSU was chosen as the winner of the magazine's Institution of Excellence for the Top HBCU in the country. Along with national recognition, the university will also receive $5,000 in cash and prizes.
The winning institution was chosen based on graduation rates, school history, enrollment and its commitment to excellence. SSU is the oldest public HBCU in the state of Georgia, and the oldest institution of higher education in Savannah.
